Within the framework of the Work Plan, it is planned to carry out actions in accordance with PLACA's four strategic lines of action:
- Capacity building
- Public policy dialogue
- Communication
- Regional coordination
The objective of this Work Plan is to recognize and support professionals in the ministries and secretariats of agriculture, and it focuses on serving all segments of rural producers, giving priority to small and medium-sized farmers.
Building on the previous work plan, the sustainable use of water and water security will remain a priority in order to help improve crop and livestock productivity, thereby contributing to the sustainability and conservation of natural resources.
Furthermore, in accordance with the guidelines established in previous work plans, the Platform intends to continue promoting greater inclusion of women, young people, and other vulnerable groups, as well as to strengthen interculturalism in all initiatives carried out by the Platform and its Thematic Working Groups.
The work plan includes the high-profile RAIZ initiative (Resilient Agriculture Investment for Net-Zero Land Degradation), which was presented at COP30 and aims to attract resources for the implementation of adaptation and mitigation actions to address climate change.
