  • Group objective
    To coordinate and promote mechanisms for collaboration, the exchange of experiences and individual or coordinated efforts for innovation and scientific and technological dissemination among the countries of LAC, in order to address the effects of climate change and climate variability with a view to promoting sustainable, efficient and resilient agriculture.
  • Thematic priorities
    1. Integration of data networks, identification of gaps, and development of a regional system to identify scientific priorities and technological needs.
    2. Identification of needs and gaps to promote the integration of data networks with a view to developing an information system on vulnerabilities in the region.
    3. Identification of priorities and needs in the region, development of indicators that adequately characterize the range of social, environmental, and economic benefits associated with the agricultural production model developed in the region.
    4. Database of regional research priorities for climate change.
    5. Identification of regional research strengths.
    6. Identifying regional needs and designing regional strategies to promote the qualities associated with agricultural products produced in the region.
    7. Identifying funding opportunities for policy implementation and capacity building.
    8. Identifying barriers to dissemination and developing a regional communication strategy for climate change initiatives.

Thematic Working Group on R&D&I

It is a network made up of more than 40 professionals from the ministries of agriculture of the region, who work actively and collaboratively to contribute to the development of Adaptation and Mitigation actions.
