A regional workshop organized by FAO, PLACA, and the Bioversity & CIAT Alliance aims to strengthen climate negotiations in agriculture and accelerate climate action in agri-food systems.
The dialogue was organized by the Public Policy Group of the Platform of Latin America and the Caribbean for Climate Action on Agriculture (PLACA).
In the framework of World Water Day, FAO published the document, prepared jointly with PLACA and GWP, "Towards a more efficient use of water", where the need to implement innovative strategies and effective policies in the face of the challenges of scarcity and drought is raised.
On February 14, the Platform of Latin America and the Caribbean for Climate Action on Agriculture (PLACA) held its 2025 Regional Forum, a coordination event where members of its Thematic Working Groups presented the progress made in 2024.
The recommendations include promoting efforts to combat climate change and its effects as a state policy, strengthening financing for this purpose, placing small producers at the center, and fostering global partnerships.
The three winners of the regional competition will receive an incentive of US$1,000 to promote their sustainable technology initiatives in the livestock sector.
