About the webinar

The event presented different experiences in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia, implementing drought monitoring and early warning systems at the national and regional levels.

Webinar Objectives

1. To present some of the tools and drought monitors currently available in Latin America.
2. Discuss the main gaps in the use of information generated by drought monitors and early warning systems, especially for farmers.
3. Promote interaction and seek possible synergies between PLACA, IWMI, WMO and ongoing projects.

Participants

There was a broad participation of professionals from the Ministries of Agriculture of the countries of the Latin American and Caribbean region, as well as various actors from regional climate centers, research institutes, international institutions and regional or global networks.
